RMG Q SONIC – 3C
The invention of high-speed computer processors allowed very small time variations to be understood between the travel times upstream and downstream. Because ultrasonic meters do not depend on the field’s cinematic energy, very low flows could be detected. The patented single and double reflection paths have been shown to be standard in custody gas transfer measurement systems based on their performance, reliability and availability. Q.Sonic series is the most reliable and compact custody ultrasonic meter, and our single and dual reflection path technology offers unprecedented identification and range of flow speed. In sizes ranging from 4″ to 64″ with a turndown ratio up to 100:1 Q.Sonic meters are available and can be applied for two-way applications. In reality, simple options are not offered and no “one size fits everyone” solution can be optimized. Since their invention about two decades ago, uses for the ultrasonic gas flow meter have grown considerably. Technically sophisticated technologies are needed in the application fields of Harder applications. The Q.Sonic line of ultrasound flow meters are the only ones with detailed diagnosis and an opportunity for identification of foulings and the ultrasonic flow pattern recognition. Twelve 12-inch aperture meters were modified to an 18-inch ultrasonic meter in the example below. Ultrasonic meters with no moving parts and stable, field checked configuration had real cost gain over the reliability of the metering application. The costs saved for the ultrosonic implementation is over $850,000. Ultrasonic meters can also remotely communicate their diagnostics, saving time and repair. The optional transducer architecture reduces maintenance and assembly costs by allowing transducers to be removed under flow pressure without the need for blocking valves or bypass lines.
